THE ONLY FISH THAT LIVE OUT OF WATER IS......

Mudskippers are quite active when out of water, feeding and interacting with one another, for example, to defend their territories . They are found in tropical , subtropical , and temperate regions, including the Indo - Pacific and the Atlantic coast of Africa. Compared with fully aquatic gobies, these fish present a range of peculiar behavioural and physiological adaptations to an amphibious lifestyle. These include: Anatomical and behavioural adaptations that allow them to move effectively on land as well as in the water: As their name implies, these fish use their fins to move around in a series of skips. They can also flip their muscular bodies to catapult themselves up to 2 ft (60 cm) into the air.

CARELESSNESS IN DRESSING IS MORAL SUICIDE

In an unjust society, silence is a crime. It’s appalling and worrisome to know that a lot of Akokites now categorize decent dressing as an old fashion. I believe there are other ways to tell the world that UNILAG, is the capital of fashion in Nigeria than gallivanting around with bare skin, neglecting the purpose of dressing which is to cover nakedness. I once lived with a mass communication sophomore student that failed a presentation course because he put on a pair of trouser called “carrot” though he pleaded and went   to redress but it was too late to mend. One trend I have noticed is that most of us now   dress   to distract others in   the place of worship on campus, many attend the house of God attired the same way they would dress to a disco party but when it is time for final year project defense they dress up meaning they fear men than God.   If you want to be a voice in your generation start appearing like a serious minded fellow and not a prostitute, those that wear

EVERY STONE HAS A STATUE IN IT; EVERY STUDENT IS A POTENTIAL SCHOLAR.

I believe by now, examination is not a strange experience to all Akokites but it’s amazing that some of us still panic whenever is examination time, I’m sure some of us have written over fifty examinations during our days in nursery, primary and secondary school but you now ask yourself why do you still panic for what you’ve done for over fifty times or is it natural to fear whenever is examination time. Avoid panicking but welcome nerves which are great aids in examinations, being nervous enables one to read for a longer time without fatigue. Here are some tips on how to get excellent grades ü Avoid procrastination, especially now that the examination day is here ü Eat balance diet & remain hygienic, it guarantee good health during exams ü Read the examiner questions carefully ü Answer the easiest question first-it help to build confidence ü Mind your handwriting ü Go through your answer script before submission ü Obey the school examination rules and r

UNILAG GREAT

THE LABOUR OF OUR HEROES PAST…. Life is like a stage, some have acted, we are acting and some are still coming to act. I was having a conversation a fortnight ago with a senior colleague, he told me he once had a show of shame in a job interview when the interviewer asked him what hostel did you stay in your final session, he replied and said El-kanemi. Then the next question was, tell us what you know about the great El-kanemi. Sadly, he was silent because he did not know and had never read who he was and that was how the interview ended and he missed the job. This and other reasons are why I painstakingly compile this brief history of notable names of some undergraduate’s hall of residence on the University of Lagos main campus.   QUEEN AMINA was a Hausa Muslim warrior, her date of birth was dated by to 1533, and she was the Queen of Zazzau (now Zaria) in what is now north central Nigeria. As an adult she refused to marry like Queen Elizabeth the first of England for the fe
